New Ways Google Voice Can Hack Your Life.

Google Voice is Awesome......I use Google Voice to hack my life in a number of new ways, I'll name a few. With the excitement that has been built up around this new communication medium, I finally got my invite a few days ago and nearly passed out from joy (I'm a Closet Geek). Anyways I can't wait to see how "GV"gets better as Google improves the software.

Blog Transcription
.
I have found that Google Voice does a pretty decent job of transcribing messages that are received, So I thought to myself, why not call into my Google Voice number and leave a couple of sentences that I will write in my Blog for later review. It has worked fairly well but obviously the service is pretty new so it doesn't get all the words right every time, one negative though is that "GV" only gives you 4 minutes to leave messages which forces me to get to the point when I call lol.

U
nlimited cell minutes when your Google Voice number is one of your "Faves".
If you have Sprint,T-Mobile, or any phone company with the option to add a "Favorite" number, add your Google Voice number as one of your "faves". By doing this you get virtually unlimited calls when you call anyone from your Google Voice number. This has worked like a charm for me, though it requires a few steps to make calls. When making calls using this "hack"I barely use any of my daytime minutes. I save money every month because I don't have to switch to one of the "Unlimited" plans my carrier offers.

Send and Receive Free International Text Messages.
I have family all over the world so talk is never cheap, but with Google Voice I'm able to send and receive text messages from them absolutely free. I used to get charged 40+ cents a pop, so conversations would normally have to be kept short, now with the Google Voice program that's installed on my Blackberry that charge is no more.

Mobile Personal Assistant.
We live in a society where people are constantly on the move, so there are multiple ways to reach us. In our household we have three phones between the both of us. My cell, My wife's Cell, and our Home phone(Its $10 a month with T-Mobile's @home service). We needed a way to streamline communications and get any important calls that come to our home phone to us asap. So we have it setup so when anyone that still has our old home phone number calls and goes to voice mail we would say our number has changed to our Google Voice number. We also give our shared Google Voice number to any old friends or new people we meet, So when we don't want to be bothered we can set everything to "Do Not Disturb" and have the quiet time that is so often neglected.

All in all Google Voice is having an impressive start, If you need more info visit Here and sign up your email address to get an invite . They are sending invites normally within 48 hours of signing up, so get your invite today and feel free to post in the comments section how Google Voice has made your life easier.
